About Active Adventures South America - Patagonia

We believe that scenery needs to be experienced, not seen through a bus window. We'll take you to places hikers dream about, like the W-Trek in Torres del Paine National Park and into the heart of Los Glaciares National Park.

About Active South America

We run our own trips, suitable for real people.

You don't need to be a triathlete to enjoy our adventures; we offer a variety of different options to suit everyone. We take real people, who may or may not have a great deal of experience in the outdoors, to the most scenic and rewarding parts of Patagonia. Clients on a typical trip will have a range of experience - from folks who have spent a couple of days in the backcountry in their lives, to those who spend most weekends in the hills.

Not your average Patagonia vacation package!
About Active South America - Patagonia

Interested? We have happy clients all over the world who have taken our Patagonia trips who'd love to tell you all about it! For referrals, please call or email us and we'd be happy to put you in touch with some of our previous clients.

An Active South America trip is not a scenic tour, but you'll go to incredible places. It's not a triathlon, but you'll get your heart rate up and the endorphins flowing. It's not a lecture on history and wildlife, but you'll gain personal insights from guides who know the places you'll visit like the back of their hand.

    Beautiful Scenery and Great Hikes

My husband has wanted to do this trip for several years. I hesitated as the Refugio stays were way out of my comfort zone. The whole trip was great, and even the Refugio’s were ok. Our guide Cynthia was just amazing - she knows what she’s doing, is prepared for everything, and was very encouraging. I really don’t know how she did it all! We were with a great group of people, and feel we have gained new friends that we hope to meet on another trail some day.

    Awesome

Just returned from two weeks travelling with Active Adventures in Patagonia and it could not have been better. The scenery was spectacular, the days and evenings varied and interesting and we ate and were treated like royalty. Everything was first class on our trip including our tour leader Arturo Rojas who was professional and just awesome in every way. We had a group of 15 trekkers and we very quickly became fast friends. I'm sure there are many companies out there but from my experience I don't think you can go wrong with Active Adventures. I'm already looking forward to my next trip with them.

    Taste of Peru

What an amazing trip! 14 days really gives a good taste of Peru. From high elevations of Cusco, Sacred Valley and the Lares Trail to the mysticism of Macchu Picchu, on to the loud cicadas of the jungle and the floating islands and welcoming Amantai family on lake Titicaca, this is a bucket list trip that will give you a taste of Peru that will make you want to return.

"Make it happen and you absolutely will not be disappointed"

The Galapagos Islands turned out to be everything you hear about and more! My style of travel has never been geared towards tours or trips (EQ Type: Authentic Experiencer), however I signed up for the Tortuga trip last minute to join my parents and couldn't have been more pleased! Being a land-based tour vs. boat tour we were able to support the local economies on the various islands we visited while experiencing the authentic and incredible wildlife and landscapes the Galapagos has to offer. We got to enjoy a variety of local restaurants rather than eating the same buffet meal similar with other tours and stay in a range of different accommodations along the way. Our tour guide Pablo however, really made the trip and I am not sure if it would be quite as amazing without him. The passion, knowledge and love he has for the Galapagos Islands glimmered through every day we were with him and his smile shared with each new experience was priceless. The only disappointment of the trip was that it would have been good to know extra activities such as diving, are non-refundable if a illness or anything else comes up last minute as they often do and it may have affected our choice to opt out earlier. Saying this, I would very strongly recommend the Tortuga trip to everyone. If you every have the chance to visit the Galapagos Islands, make it happen and you absolutely will not be disappointed. Each day we were left amazed and utterly shocked at how much we were able to see and do with each activity. I have traveled to some pretty spectacular places around the world but this trip is a once in a lifetime experience. - Myla xo
